Re: South Africa 2010 World Cup

De Jong, Robben,Heiting and VanBommel deserved red cards in Netherlands. Iniesta deserved red card from Spain. Who the hell did the refree help? And Xavi, Ramos and Puyol for Spain. Giving that goal kick that was the most obvious referee mistake in the last minute which led to a goal for Spain. Giv...

Re: South Africa 2010 World Cup

Not to mention that obvious corner kick, the revenge kick on van Bommel from I think Iniesta which didn't even get a yellow card, the spanish players getting free kicks every five seconds when similar things didn't give the Dutch anything. I do agree that Spain deserved to win, but I also think that...

Re: South Africa 2010 World Cup

Uruguay definitly earned that goal. We play like crap, utter crap. Seriously, if we play like this we don't deserve to win this game at all. Both goals are awesome looking though. And De Zeeuw has probably quite a headache after that kick to the face. Shame I can't see the second half because of wor...

Re: South Africa 2010 World Cup

I mean: if you take Suarez' line of thought into the extreme, you could consider breaking your opponent's kneecaps because their team revolves around their striker or their goalie. Sure, you would get a red card for it, but you just might win because they are now missing their star player. This is ...

Re: South Africa 2010 World Cup

The Dutch team doesn't really seem to care, Cameroon have been better this second half and VdV was stupid with giving away a penalty kick. That said, Elia and Robben are on the field now, hope they can show some of their magic. Just a small note for Robben, that is magic playing football, not magic ...

I guess you could give a red card for that, but I don't think it was intentional in any way, and think a yellow card at most should be given for that... Re: South Africa 2010 World Cup

Do the refs have a certain number of cards they have to give each match or something? FIFA gives them a number before each match, and if they don't give those cards they don't get paid!

Seems like the only thing making sense after a lot what I've seen these last few days.

Re: South Africa 2010 World Cup

I disagree completely, yellow cards were given on non-harsh fouls, non-intended. Being unlucky with being 1/10th of a second too late on a ball, and not even in a harsh way, does not warrant a yellow card.

The referee seems to like handing out yellow cards. Any time he blows the whistle you seem to have a chance to get one (I wouldn't be surprised if he's going to give one for offside soon).

Okay, that reaction by Kaita was stupid as hell, he obviously deserved that red card. Though I can understand it, and I think the Greek player should've at least gotten a warning. Provoking like that and punching the ball into the stomach of an opposing player shouldn't be allowed IMO.

Re: South Africa 2010 World Cup

While on one hand I like underdogs winning, in this case it just seems too much. Spain was playing attacking football the entire time, got very very unlucky and lost, I can imagine it feeling really unfair if you're Spanish. That said, they have two more matches to make amends, so good luck to them,...
