Re: Criticism in AtEoT lyrics

You might say, for (another) example, that And Then There Was Silence is also a general song about the Illiad. But I clearly remember Hansi stating somewhere he wanted to use the Illiad for an anti-war song. In general I think Hansi is quite a pacifist and wouldn't like to present fighting, especial...

Criticism in AtEoT lyrics

I've been wondering... Songs like Valkyries, but it goes to several others as well - Is Hansi just using this as a general subject and tells about it, just some scene or concept he's presenting in the lyrics (Heroes going to Valhalla, in this case)? I have a feeling it can't be right. I think it's t...

Israel!

I don't mind if you go to Damascus too, but I get the feeling you'll find much more fans here.

I went abroad twice already just to see Blind Guardian, but I can't this time. Must save some money for school.

I mean, it's not like they've never reused anything at all before. See my above post on TCoF/UtI. Same rhythm, slightly different notes. And it's a very distinctive rhythm to. As far as originality goes, things get reused all the time, it doesn't mean something is unoriginal. It's just the nature o...

Re: Talking about parts that look alike

Well.. I posted my reply here as a new topic and I think it's a bit unfair to unite them like this, as I think this topic refers to similarity within Blind Guardian songs, and my reference was on a larger scale. I Do admit though that I didn't notice this topic before... Oh well.. I wanted to add an...

Similarity to other songs... What do you hear?

Hi, I haven't posted here for ages, but I'm a huge fan for 12 years now. As I was listening to songs on ATEOT, which I finally got today, I found these 3 things: Tanelorn's chorus reminds me somehow of Queensryche's "London" chorus (from the album Rage for Order - one of Andre's favourite albums). h...

lol! I hate to burst your bubble, but This Will Never End was for a certainty Song 17 before it got its name... I just hope it will be a good album and not too short. I wouldn't mind a Yes type of album with only about 3 long songs :) As for facebook.. I'm kind of sad that that's the best way to get...

Re: Wow, in the liner notes of the NiME remaster, Hansi beats

Well.. I haven't been here a while, and I'm not sure about Arenamaster's other topics, but this one seems interesting to me, even if laid out in somewhat of a disrespectful manner... I don't have the remaster of NIME, so I'm very curious to see what Hansi wrote there. Can someone quote it please, so...

It's very confusing :)

Saying that all the rest are underrated is something I agree with, but maybe it's hard to say that these 3 are really overrated as they deserve every bit of appreciation they get..
This is a very confusing album to choose the best from :)

Re: The improved BG ballad poll

It wasn't an easy choice, but I voted APAFS. Was interesting to read all the discussion though... I really like All the King's Horses - very emotional and (of course) well done. I also think that The Bard's Song - In the Forest is very good by itself and not boring. Also Skalds and Shadows is great....

Nor do I. I love that song, so what´s wrong with it?
That it has a bad effect on people's taste in music sometimes, otherwise it would be number 1.
Oh?.. This is getting interesting.. What do you mean by "bad effect"?

Re: Marcus Video Interview

Somehow many times I find Blind Guardian members to give unsatisfying answers (for me) on interviews. Maybe saying "just having fun" says a lot (like they enjoy cre...
