When Sorrow Sang - Deeper (Silmarillion) Meanings

Those of you who have read the Silmarillion surely have wondered at some point: how come Blind Guardian chose to write a song about such a minor part of Beren and Luthien's epic story (the song she sings for Mandos near the end)?.. It's also kind of strange to have a song about a song, isn't it?... ...

Re: Where can I find the NiME concept stories in English?

hmm...

Maybe I wasn't clear.
I have the stories in the booklet I've got.
I wanted to find them online so that I might copy and print whole parts instead of rewriting them.

But it's an interesting idea - to scan and transform to text.
Maybe I'll try it :)
Thanks!

oh well...

If not the concept stories, I bet someone knows of many interviews from that era..
Is there some interview collection somewhere?...
I'd like to get all the authentic relevant information I can get.

Re: Where can I find the NiME concept stories in English?

Let me get one thing straight, Nahar, though... you had the album for 12 years. You read the Silmarillion 7 times... And it never struck you that there -might- be a connection between the two? Well.. I don't know if you're being cynical now, but I was before... Expecting you people to assum...

LOL

And the German didn't seem a little suspicious? Like they might have some reason to be there? ;)

Should I give you a hint to what they're about or would you like to find it out for yourself?..
Well.. the hint appears right after the thanks to the Tolkien specialists... :)

Where can I find the NiME concept stories in English?

Hi, I'll be giving a lecture about NiME in a Fantasy\SciFi convention in two months (quite excited about that) and was looking for the concept stories from the booklet online (to use perhaps parts of in the lecture) but somehow failed. Does anyone know where can I find them on the internet (in Engli...

Re: Criticism in AtEoT lyrics

This is why Hansi made it cunningly and delicately  The lyrics in Sacred Worlds make sense to me only if I see them from a video games critic's point of view. After playing a bit of the game, and reading some (I say some because I wouldn't call myself an expert) of the lore, I'd say the lyric...

On CtD: Phil: What would you say are your favorite tracks off the album? Re: Criticism in AtEoT lyrics

You might say, for (another) example, that And Then There Was Silence is also a general song about the Illiad. But I clearly remember Hansi stating somewhere he wanted to use the Illiad for an anti-war song. In general I think Hansi is quite a pacifist and wouldn't like to present fighting, especial...

Criticism in AtEoT lyrics

I've been wondering... Songs like Valkyries, but it goes to several others as well - Is Hansi just using this as a general subject and tells about it, just some scene or concept he's presenting in the lyrics (Heroes going to Valhalla, in this case)? I have a feeling it can't be right. I think it's t...

Similarity to other songs... What do you hear?

Hi, I haven't posted here for ages, but I'm a huge fan for 12 years now. As I was listening to songs on ATEOT, which I finally got today, I found these 3 things: Tanelorn's chorus reminds me somehow of Queensryche's "London" chorus (from the album Rage for Order - one of Andre's favourite albums). h...

It wasn't an easy choice, but I voted APAFS. Was interesting to read all the discussion though... I really like All the King's Horses - very emotional and (of course) well done. I also think that The Bard's Song - In the Forest is very good by itself and not boring. Also Skalds and Shadows is great....

Nor do I. I love that song, so what´s wrong with it?
That it has a bad effect on people's taste in music sometimes, otherwise it would be number 1.
