Re: The legilization of marijuana

If we consider only the effects on public health, it is not recommended. We already have one drug, alcohol, one more drug will increase health problems. Marijuana damage is different from alcohol damage, we can't compare intensity between two things so different. But the number of problems will incr...

Re: Need help for general development in metal

British Steel is lighter than Painkiller, maybe you should start with it before Painkiller. There is a classic that I didn't recommend because new fans usually don't like the vocals, unfortunately: Melissa - Mercyful Fate. Talking about Mercyful Fate, it's better to start with the album The Begginin...

Recently I started seeing some sense in Cobain's lyrics, if we correct the misheard parts and the changes made to fit to a rhyme. In Smells Like Teen Spirit, maybe "overbored" is actually "over-board", I mean, like a credit card, or other type of card. And maybe it's not "my libido", but "A libido"....

World vs. word

Well, the wrong place to ask what I will ask, because it's not metal at all, but here it goes. I saw the lyrics of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Kurt says "Oh, no, I know a dirty word". Well, this doesn't make sense and I wonder if he actually has sung "world" instead of "word", but it was misheard ...

Two Maiden songs are rip-off of this intro: Wasting Love and Remember Tomorrow.

Re: Helloween's 25th anniversary album

I liked it. It's fun to listen to it, but it's needed to forget the original versions while enjoying these new ones. Most of Helloween's appeal were the mellow vocal lines with a fast and heavy instrumetal background. When we listen to the melody itself, it's poor. This is my opinion for some of the...

Funny that this contradiction started when St. Paul and others, trying to atract greeks at any costs, picked some neoplatonic metaphysics (attached to a greek view of life, based in reason) and put it in a semitic religion (attached to a semitic view of life). Christian metaphysics is like an Aristo...

13th Floor Elevators

This is from that trend, 2nd-half of 60's, of using acid to try to find a non-arystothelic vision of the world, as I read it (people here may know it much better). This song is from 13th Floor Elevators, one of the bands that most deeply lived this philosophy. I'm reading the pre-socratics, and I th...

Incredible! In the piano tribute, Caught Somewhere In Time sounds so natural that it feels like Maiden made a metal cover from the piano song. It was the same sensation with the Food For Thought's Acacia Avenue. That jazz is the original.

Good band. In the 5 first albums, there's always at least 3 or 4 good songs each.
They have some underrated songs, because of prejudice, I think.
My favorite song is Rain Of A Thousand Flames, the title track, very powerful.

Things get clearer now. For this reason they didn't fight for the name in 1985, it brought no money.
Now with the clothes and other stuff selling it's very profitable to be the name's owner.

Iommi bought the name in 1985, the register number is 2,399,391.
Maybe Ozzy will have to pay some royalties for playing Paranoid in his shows, just as Paul McCartney pays Michael Jackson for playing Beatles songs.
