Star Wars Marathon!

#1 Post by Led Guardian » 07 Nov 2010 08:13

Some of my friends and I just finished an all day Star Wars marathon. Watched all the episodes from 1-6! Who else here can claim such a feat?!

I can now tally this along with the two extended edition LotR marathons that I have done.

Real men doi a James Bond marathon. :P

Still wanna do one for Star Wars. Did marathons for the OT and the NT, but never all six of them. I do a LotR:EE-marathon each year though, and once went to a Pirates marathon too.

Watching the 4 Indiana Jones movies in 4 consecutive days or the 3 Underworld movies in 3 consecutive days does count? I feel such a wimp now... (Looking back at least once I saw the 3 Pirates movies in 3 days, and the 3 LOTR:EE movies in 3 days as well, but never in the same day...)

Watching the 4 Indiana Jones movies
But there are only three of them. I'm serious, there ARE only three of them!!!

I watched the Lord Of The Rings Marathon in cinema when the last one was released. Was fun, but also quite though. I had to watch Retun Of The King again, for I could hardly really remember anything of it.

One of my LotR marathons was from 6 pm to 6:30 am, so yes, you really are a wimp. :P

A New Hope

#8 Post by Hansi Smurf » 08 Nov 2010 20:06

Y'know, I honestly watched, Star Wars "A New Hope", consecutively, sometime during the 1990's, for over 1000 complete viewings! I only watched "Empire" and "Return" for about 300 times each during those very golden years! Back in them days, I could literally recite the entire dialogue of "A New Hope", word for word, and with almost perfect pitch, too!

Yeah, those sure were the good old days!

Peace, Love, and Kill, Keep Killing!

Why Any Would-Be Star Wars Marathon Shall Remain I.C.

#11 Post by Hansi Smurf » 20 Nov 2010 20:28

"A New Hope", or as I still prefer to call it, "Star Wars" - it just keeps being a bit of a mean-spirited rip-off, to We, the knowledgable Space Geeks!

The Space Geek deserves the "Luke Skywalker seeing the battle in space with his Macrobinoculars" opening!

The Space Geek deserves the "Luke Skywalker pals around with all of his old school friends in an Anchorhead mechanical garage scene!"

The Space Geek deserves the "Luke Skywalker talks with older best friend Biggs Darklighter about Biggs joing up with the Rebel Alliance scene" too!"

"Luke Skywalker selling his landspeeder to a used speeder dealer", is also a very much longer, and, very sadly, cut-out scene - no less visually impressive than the rest of the "New Hope" "lived-in" look!

"Luke and Biggs gearing up for the Space battle", is also a much longer scene, and it deserves to be fully restored, not partially restored, as it was for the "enhanced" re-release!

I suspect further, that the extra-scenes found in the novelizations, ie. "the Empire Strikes Back's", "the Rebel Alliance on Hoth having BIG TROUBLES with a multiple Wampa Snow Creatures Invasion", may also exist on film!

There is also "the Return of the Jedi"-era scene between Luke and Ben Kenobi, down on Dagobah, where the novelized version is much, much, more interesting, having as it does, a Kenobi-based re-telling of the Mustapharian Origin of Darth Vader! Yea', I suspect that this scene too, may well exist on film, but sadly cut-out, for "idiot attention-span" purposes! (Them damned editors and their damned lack of faith in, US, Space-loving idiots!)

And just so you know: the "enhanced Empire Strikes Back" stinks! A fake James Earl Jones, and a less than "Bring My Shuttle" ejaculation?!? WTF?!? The change of Irvine Kirschner's original pacing shows me a senile and smelly Lucasfilm Ltd. is well upon it's way out of controlling the Star Wars franchise, and for good!!!

Sucks, so too, does the enhanced "A New Hope" Mos Eisley Spaceport! And the "Greedo shoots first edit", sucks too! The original matte-painting of Mos Eisley is a master-piece! The cruddiness of the original Mos Eisley town? Just what one would expect from an outpost on a "far away from civilization" planet like Tatooine! And as for the "Greedo shoots first" scene? How on Earth did George Lucas ever decide for to take a perfectly paced, perfectly shot scene, like Han blasting Greedo from under the table, and turn it into an anti-divinity, horrible-still-shot, anti-fun scene? Lucas' kids have the right to blast any gun-coercer that ever talks to 'em, including the standing armies, skin-head gangs, global police, the United States Government, or any other "anti-freedom from others", or "right to violence rather than right to fuck" aliens, that they might ever happen to encounter! As we Scarface-based rappers say to all of our Publican Enemies, "bitchez shoulda shot us fore' they pulled they fucking pistols on us!"

I must admit that I like the "A New Hope" Space Battle Enhancements, AND the Jabba the Hutt scene too! Too, as I mull it all over, the spirit of fx guru John Dykstra does prefer the "unenhanced" opening cluster of X and Y-Wings as they begin just approaching the Death Star, and I must agree!

Over and out!

The Next Day:

And another thing! "Yub-nub" was a much better song than the new "Return of the Jedi" Ewok Village ending, AND, the original "Jabba's Palace" Sy Snootles & the Max Rebo Band and their "qwany-qwany-yooshna" song, were also very much better pop than the "enhanced" version's new song and dance number, ever will be!

Star Wars At The Pony Corral

#12 Post by Hansi Smurf » 21 Nov 2010 21:53

Quite few years back, at either Wrestlemania 20, 21, or 22; me, and the big crowd at the Pony Corral Bar & Grill, there at the Grant Park Shopping Center location; we were all of us, chowing down and getting ready for the year's big matches: eating, drinking, jawing away; when someone changed the channel from whatever cognitively unattended warm-up act was on at the time, there upon all of the very many big and small screen TV's that are there to this very day; and guess who showed up to dinner? Why it was none other than our very own 200 year old Wookie pal, Chewbacca; there, right inside the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon, just as it was blasting past the Imperial Blockade over Tatooine!

Mere giga-seconds before, the place was an all-masculine mad-house! Then, instantly, abruptly, every male there, minus myself - an old, 1000 viewings of "A New Hope" veteran, every other one of 'em, they all just stopped what they were doing, and they all, each and every one of 'em, they all just stared at the TV's like hypnotized zombies: jaws slack, eyes glazed, mouth's watering!

I couldn't believe it! I was quite literally aghast: "Holy Shit", all I could think at the time, as I stared around the place, making sure it was true! Then, mere moments later, whomever it was that had changed the channel, quickly changed it once more, for to get ta the Main Event! The whole place had been DEAD QUIET, and totally mesmerized! Then, as soon as the Countdown to Wrestlemania' started up - it was right back ta all that male noise and supperware clatter!

And I still swear by the "Fnord", that Chewie was, is, and remains, "the really, really Big Star!"

May The Force Be With You!

Alliance High Command

#13 Post by Hansi Smurf » 10 Feb 2011 03:24

Recently, I was browsing thru an unknown book of essays written by famed Science Fiction Writer/Editor Lester Del Rey. There in the last bit of the book, dedicated to the film Star Wars: A New Hope, Del Rey made a very astute super-position known to me!

All these decades now, I have always seen the robots, R2-D2 and C-3P0 as mere tools of sentience, rather than actual sentience itself. Del Rey insisted otherwise: to him R2-D2 and C-3P0 are not just useful technology, but actual high-ranking command officers working for the Alliance For To Restore The Old Republic!

One little emotional fnord in one little essay was all it took! 3 decades of scoffing at the very idea of caring about droids as one cares for men, swept away by one small sentence, in one obsure book, inside the Literary Review section, of the Biblioteque Du Millenium!

Sorry R2! Sorry 3P0! You guys are allright!

(Technically, I only wrote that the Droids at the end of Episode IX have babies of their own, cuz the spiritual George Lucas insisted! I was still calling 'em power-tools at the time! )

Mating Season And Self Rule

#18 Post by Hansi Smurf » 10 Mar 2011 23:16

Speaking of porn-a-thon's: attn. Jenna Jameson? Y'know, I have no idea if I'll ever see poor ole' Boo Boo Smurf and mate with her, ever again?!?

So since I am only truly in love with those whom I am in Congress with, I thought I'd put it out their, that if you, Jenna Jameson, ever wished for to give up your life of crime, and for to use yer beautiful and fertile vagina, fer ta make a very honest, very loyal and very fanatical, regardless-of-economy, mate-for-life outta yerself, that I would then be available to you as a baby-donor, until after further notice!

We're both White, both Caucasian, and both Strappingly Tall, plus we both have the same appetite for regular Orgasms, too!

Yum!

(Man, oh man! If the emotions in my mind's eye WERE telepathic/empathic? Man, I'd sure want Boo Boo dug under, dig? I for one, sure hope that the Military Theocracy, soon relents upon it's Zero Mental Hygiene Killings Ethic, and soon begins Ethnically Cleansing the Entire Sub-Genius Mass: the sooner the better!)

One day, I may attempt the ultimate (the ultimate that is still within some sort of limit, James Bond level would be obscene): LotR, preceded by the inevitable extended editions of the 2 (now being filmed) Hobbit movies.

The Ultimate Marathon!

#23 Post by Hansi Smurf » 12 Mar 2011 21:50

I think that any Marathon of Movie Watching is incomplete without a Girl-Friend for to snuggle with together for whilst you would Relax!

Why, I haven't had a REAL GOOD time watching a movie on the couch since July 4, 1998! :|

BLIND GUARDIAN has just gotta protect us fans!

BLIND GUARDIAN has just gotta find Boob fer Beeb, and bring her back home ta 901-424 Edmonton Street! (But not until after the 16th! The 15th is Spring Cleaning Day, and the 16th is Evacuate the Home For Precautionary Anti-Bed Bug Treatments! Then Boob could come home to a long period of doing nothing but just Relaxing! )

Bah! But of course, BLIND GUARDIAN must do none of that! :x BLIND GUARDIAN, must instead, merely whisper, "Divine Providence", and then stand, the four of them, together, and all of them assured that the Whole Universe IS Man-Made, Safe, AND, Designed for to provide, US ALL, with our very own Desires, Incarnate! :D

Next Time There's A Star Wars Episode's IV - VI Marathon:

#28 Post by Hansi Smurf » 29 Apr 2011 19:12

Imagine instead of Episodes I, II, and III, that there is a Movie called, "Clone Wars III"!

Both Darth's Sidious & Vader, are an Putsch-Injection from the Outer-Verse, the Living Home-Base of a Man Called the Exhibiter, a Being to whom the Whole Universe is but a mere table-top display, indeed, a table-top display, all super-structure, and no Trad Outer-Space at all, but where all of Trad-Space is truly & mostly, only a strict hallucination for we to whom the Exhibiter are but sub-microscopic!

Immediately, a young male on a desert world of the Exihibit's Muluhadra, begins calling himself "Luke Skywalker", and his Mom & Dad, Uncle & Aunt, via his willful accomplice of these brave, new Sith's psychic death threats: but, he has already defeated two other injections of these two very same Clones, whom both once again isist, inside the Invisible Landscape, that "Luke Skywalker" join their Religon, and become himself, the Creator of All Reality, and thus, presumably, overthrow the much hated, Exhibiter Gestalt!

The Jedi are all, previously, strict Congregationalist Minister's of their own Solipsistic Localities! But so powerful are the Dark Lords of the Sith, that the "Phantom Menace", "Attack of the Clones", "Revenge of the Sith", and the "Expanded Galactic Histories", are all of them, forced upon the Galaxy, without a struggle!

So everything that we have seen and heard during, "A New Hope", "Empire Strikes Back" & "Return of the Jedi" is just false-history, and Purely Kayfabed, by All and Sundry, truly!

So Powerful is this Kayfabe, that by the time of the rise of Star-Warrior, and "Luke Skywalker's" own legitimate Creation of the Universe, so powerful is all the Mass' own accomplice of the Kayfabe, that All Knowledge of the Exhibiter is Wiped Clear, from out of All Time & All Memory! As well, both the table-top Exhibit, and too, the entire Macro-Cosmic Outer-Verse that the Exhibit resided within, they are too, both all swallowed up, and reprocessed, spiritually and physically, into an "All-Is-One-Stature", Corellian System-City!

Webster's 1957: "...the Odd is an Energy Field, believed in, and studied by, the Alchemists from the Days of Old. The Odd was believed for to Surround Us, to Penetrate Us, to Bind Us All Together: too, it was very heavily hypotheizied, for to be, the Probable Cause, of Everything !"

Isn't that Odd?

The Previous Post:

Yah know, Star Wars Psychopaths, while I don't mind the previous post, it is still not the emotionally-fnorded "Clone Wars", as expressed by OB1 Kenobi, during the Kenobi Cave Scene, during "A New Hope", or as I prefer to call it once more, STAR WARS!

There was a certain "yucky" feeling inside both my balls and brains, whenever I used ta watch "A New Hope" (STAR WARS), as well as a feeling of "alien weird", and "vacuity", as well!

I'm gonna keep trying for to write a story-treatment for to capture my original emotional impression of the Clone Wars! Will I ever succeed?

I had my doubts! Star Wars is All-Ages American Cinema, after all! For to revise it into a much more deeply disturbing vision: it just might be psychologically improbable, yet it is still a part of our Creative Urge!

So Watch Out Kiddies!

And Returning In Two Weeks? The Continuation of "Marvel Wars!"

APPENDUM TO THE TEXT: Y'know, I think that "Clone Wars III", will be the official "truth", as pertaining to what has come before Star Wars IV, whereas the children of Star Wars VII - IX, such as Star-Warrior, will all have been taught that the Prequel Events, Star Wars I - III, are in fact, the gospel truth!
