Speedtest.net gives me "only" 8.47/0.84. But really, that's fast enough for me. And at work, I'm wired directly onto AMS-IX (to be precise, two of the seven AMS-IX locations are located in the same building where I work), giving me basically the fastest connection possible in Europe. 8)

speedtest told me 4.66 / 0.48
when i moved here, i decided to try out a slower (cheaper) connection - and it's enough for me

Speedtest.net is giving me 47.35/3.05 Mb/s. Which is funny since I'm supposed to have roughly half of that download speed.

Here at work, it gives me 79.11Mbit/s download and 46.63Mbit/s download. I suspect my actual speed is even faster, though (considering the AMS-IX thing), although it might as well be possible that the speed for individual users here just has been limited.

A quick real world test: downloading a Ubuntu Linux CD image of 695 Mb takes me 14 seconds here. That amounts to about 397 Mbit/s. So the actual speeds are much faster than those given by speedtest.net. (As a comparison: this would allow me real time video streaming at a 7680x4320 resolution -- 16 full HD screens combined, that is.)

No, but you should probably kill yourself with a rate that slow.

doing some research on local ISP's and related articles,i came to the conclusion that in chile, most internet connections are way slower than in other countries and sometimes 10 times more expensive, wtf!!these fuckers clearly have an agreement in keeping the prices high and the speed may vary according to the deepness of your pockets.

Clocked at 10mbps by the service provider, though that is only something it can achieve at its maximum and on the average, I reckon that it will comfortably work at around 7mbps max.
