Misheard lyrics...

#1 Post by Flunitrazepam » 08 Apr 2005 08:28

Post the misheard lyrics as well as the original ones, please. Don't forget the title of the song. :)

And Then There Was Silence
I heard: "I am the woman and you're the man"
Real: "I am the wolf and you're the lamb"

Note: This is purely for entertainment, we are not making fun of anyone else than ourselves.

I thought it was ''it's melting in your brain'' (but not today, goodbye born in a mourning hall)
A friend of mine used to sing ''returning of the miracles, it smiles everywhere'' :?

"wish I'd be a bird of prey
a pure and a blessed
a hawk who colud ease the pain" from "wait for an answer" was like this for me for a long time:
we're champion like them
appear and be blessed
a hawk who carries the pain!!!

Hahahah! Wow... the Dark Elf with f***ed up lyrics from Time Stands Still!
Though the towers of the city are denied to we men of clay
still we know we shall scale the heights some day.
Frightened in the silence -
frightened, but thinking very hard,
let us make computations of the stars.

ROTFLMFAO! That Time Stands Still is priceless compared to my minor mishearing in Battlefield that inspired my first full nickname (I used to be Aida_Melodica) Anyway, I thought instead of "Blessed be our leader" it was "Bless to the Aida" I can't think of anymore after reading that Time Stands Still, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Why shouldn't I be nice to Andrea and let her have half my account? Sharing is good!

but it was:
"Someone's sucking out my energy"

... Hansi, you gorgeous man, for god's sake sing more understandable!

On IFTOS:
"...or did they all dye by my hair"

Not funny, but on Bright Eyes I could never understand if it was:
"Watching me, watching me...."
Or "watching you, watching you..."
Or "What to do, what to do..."
I think it maybe differs from original and accoustic versions.

On Bright Eyes I thought they sang "Everything is self-control, everything is self-control"... It's supposed to be "Everything's out of control"! Just stupid!

In the italian version of Harvest of Sorrow there is a passage that goes:

Frutto del buio
il tuo seme cresce
in un mondo di alinconia
...

in the beginning I thought it was

Frutto del buio
into celebration
...

but I understand Hansi: he had to sing in (how many exactly?) versions the same song...

May I have a proposal? The translation from english to italian was not so well made:(ie, "Harvest of sorrow" doesn't mean "Frutto del buio" [fruit of darkness], but "Raccolto di dolore", literally) I mean, next time you have to sing in Italian...I'm here, just a message and I can check it out...

The Martyr
i heard:

Bless us for eternity

but it was:

Bless us for eternity
kind of dumb cause the title suggests what the lyrics should be

"Have a... sandwich... it's too late for me."

The first time I listened to the Tales from the Twilight World album, I was listening to it on my personal CD player. I was on a bus. I heard what I thought was "Have a sandwich, it's too late for me" and I howled with laughter. I was afraid of being asked to leave.

From The Script For My Requiem:
"Johnny knows how long I've been away"

But anyway, some people still think it is "Born In A MORNING Hall"

this one's from Angra "winds of destination" (you know... Hansi sings in it.)

It's:
"Blood is flowing on the ground
Like a river branching red lines"

but I thought it was:
"Bloodpreassure's gettin' high
Like a river branching red lines"

:| wierd...

ok if u come up with other bands:

rhapsody, the emerald sword:

"for the green valleys where dragons fly
for the glory the power to win the black lord
I will search for the emerald sword"

and I understood:

"for the queen where the square dragons fly
for the glory to blow up to win the black lord
I will search for deliverance all"

 lol what a crap^^

or a friend of me who was drunked singing:

"Slow-motion walter, the fire engine guy"
(Deep purple - smoke on the water" :D :D: D
I, too, am a neat guy. And I, too, am just a love machine

From Blood Tears "Cut off your old friend's head" instead of "hand".
