Tanelorn (Into The Void) cover

#1 Post by residentour » 22 Feb 2011 17:12

This is my latest cover. Tanelorn is so fast that sometimes I rerecorded patterns 50 times
Hope you enjoy.

Thanks again to Loren for the tab.

By the way I have remixed Fly cover for clarity issues.

That's not very nice...
usually also not very high quality ;)

I like the cover.
I think in some parts it gets a bit too messy somehow...
the drums I suppose...

how are you doing it?..

youtube is for video files and , files loses quality .
Soundcloud is for sound files and it is the best site for giving streaming links. If you haven't tried the site , you are missing a lot :D

Thanks. Drum notes are directly imported from guitar pro tabs as midi files. "loren" from this forum makes the tabs and I import drum sections. I don't know much about drums so I don't touch a lot ( just minor changes, sampling, compressing, reverb addition giving velocity changes and some delays.).

I actually did a pseudo cover of this too, essentially of the guitar pro file (probably the same one you used), then converted everything to orchestration. My computer couldn't handle all the layers in Miroslav (despite me having 6GB of ram) so a track cuts out at a certain point, but figure I'd post it anyway after I read this.

And I agree about the whole YouTube thing, I detest when people link to songs on YouTube when things like Grooveshark and whatever the hell residentour was linking exist. Though I suppose it's decent for video.

anyway, here: http://www.socketxmp.com/7X/tanelorn.mp3

at around about 4:09, the rhythm track drops out. enjoy.

residentour! I finally got some decent recording equipment and have recorded some vocals over your version of "Curse of Feanor"! I want to share it but don't know what to do! I don't know how to make a youtube vid to put online, so I can email you the file

I love when these things pop up so I can sing along to them :D

I've listened to your Fly and Tanelorn covers, and it sounds good.
