Lots of the fans of today seem like real whiners. Not surprising few are left from the old boards.

Really looking forward to see if ATTWS gets the orchestral treatment.

OMFG Christmas present: The Bard's Song orchestral version!!!!!!!!!! (In the forest, that one :P )

I sounds fantastic, good god! I love how some vocal lines and harmonies have been altered.
I can't think of anything clever to put here.

Put that shit on the Hobbit's end credits and watch 300 people just standing there holding their coats for 3 minutes just listening to pure magic.
Now I'm riding through the air
Going to where no one dares
On the way I cross the line forevermore.
For once in life, I do not care
Nothing matters, now I dare
On the ride I'll cross the line
Forever to be free

I concur!! It really has that potential. Easy on regular non-metal ears without lacking quality.

As soon as I heard this version I had a strange effect ....
I played back several times, I think I need to feel the full song to understand what effect it may have on me .... It's entering in my head, however .... I have always considered this song perfect in its simplicity, but now I realize that so enriched can' have a value added. ...

You know what time it is?

It's time for some samples!

http://www.amazon.de/Memories-Time-Come ... 60&sr=1-18

I remain cautiously optimistic for the new recordings. Silence pretty much sounds like... Silence. Hard to tell with this quality though. The Hobbit sounds epic, but there was nothing wrong with the original either *shrugs*. Nice to hear that Kai Hansen is back on the Valhalla re-recording.

Fucking 64kbps mp3... Are they serious? This is like negative advertisement. Anyway, yeah, I'm hopeful as well, but I can't hear much from those horrendous samples.

P.S. The Hobbit sounds like the bomb, even in this quality.

I don't know what to think of the ATTWS re-recording. Guess I'll have to withhold judgement till we see some better quality samples.

To say hansi is 45 i'm really impressed he can still pull of all the screams, especially in the Bright Eyes sample (the scream after 'everything is out of control')
Pre-ordered MOATTC like 3 weeks ago anyway :D

May just be me thinking that then, the scream sounds very different to that in the original :/
After inspecting this, i think the scream is lightly in the background and in the new remixed version is been brought to the foreground more :D

I wish I had an audiophile's ear and could identify (technically) what these obvious changes are. TWNE sounds less "misty" if you guys follow me, like everything feels more direct and condensed.

Also, I enjoy that even though The Hobbit is a re-recording, they've kept the SFB-style choir vocal motif

I have some previous experience on transcribing BG songs and what I can tell from these 2011 remixes is that they all have more audible and balanced guitar tracks when compared to the originals, I noticed it especially on those NIME tracks (we can now hear Marcus better!). All those remixes seem to be very promising but of course one cannot be 100% sure based on these lower quality clips. I'd still say it is going to be a great compilation.

Vocals on The Hobbit re-recording are very good. If you listen carefully (difficult with the quality) his screams in the background are fantastic.

And holy shit This Will Never End's guitars are sooo good. If only they could remix that whole album, it would sound a lot better.

Oh, I'Ve all manner of disrespect. His stuff is horribly boring and formulaic, with no sense of it being about anything and the endless iterations of complementary colors, in particular the soul-sickening orange/blue contrasts... We hates it!

So the rest of the songs in Disc 3 are just Demos that you can find in the remasters.

It's hard to tell at that quality if those are samples or real strings in ATTWS. Sound like samples still. Hope I'm wrong. I so badly want to hear that song given the SW and WOT treatment.

The Valhalla rerecording sounds great. The remixes IDK about, it's impossible to really hear the new changes. Mirror Mirror's sample, in particular, sounds a mess because of that ridiculous bitrate.

I don't like the type of R-mix that Chalies does.

I like re-miz when you take the original masters recording and try no equalize/nivelate the intruments that were too low or to high in the mix. What Charlie does is to modernize the sound of everything.

I'm a diehard fan from Brazil, living in Montreal right now. I've been to every music store around my place to know more about the Canadian release of Memories of a Time to Come and so far I got no luck. I remember when At the Edge of Time was released, I had to buy it via iTunes because I haven't found it anywhere.

Now even on iTunes I can't find Memories of a Time to Come. Why??!!

I don't think it has. As far as I remember, AtEoT didn't leak until the day before the (European) release date, which is quite a good score. I just hope MoaTTC will do as just well.

I have to admit, the leak of AtEoT allowed me to enjoy the album during my trip trough france and vacation in Bulgaria (as I went on vacation a few hours after the leak). Altough I pre-ordered the album and do not hope an album leaks for BG, I cannot help myself when it does. But I also pre-ordered this one, so I won't feel that bad for my lack of willpower.

I am really curious to hear the new recordings, the Bard's song sounds really awesome. But I would've prefered orchestral versions of others songs. I don't know what to think of the sample of ATTWS, but the part in the 2nd TV episode already sounded better. But I don't think it will have the WoT and Sacred Worlds sound... The hobbit sounds promising and well, I don't like the voice of Kai so I guess I will have to do with the Live version (I like the fact that they did this though, fanservice). I am also eager to explore the old demos a bit, as I've never listened to any of those actually. And remixes give me a reason to blast it trough my stereoset again. All in all I'm looking forward to Memories.

In this day and age there's still people asking for a leak? I mean, 1) Everyone, if they want to, should know how to find leaked stuff i and 2) Everyone should have learnt that if you can't find it, it hasn't leaked yet.

And let's not even get into the common courtesy of not telling straight into the band's e-face
