Demo ?

#1 Post by bard_92 » 18 Feb 2012 13:03

Hello, guys :D I'm sorry for my stupid question,but I'm really wondering about something. My question is, what does BG demos songs means ? In my opinion demo song, by itselfs, have to be raw,unfinished song, but BG demos are sometimes like different songs(from the original) with different lyrics and so on... ,they're more like an alternative versions,than a demo.... so I can't understand why they call them demos ? What's the point ? :? :)

Well, that's how they make demos :P you could call the different lyrics the "demo" lyrics, something wrote just to have an idea of how the vocal line goes, until they write the real lyrics.

Hell, "Mirror mirror" itself is a "demo lyric" - the song should have been "Shadow, shadow on the wall", but "Mirror Mirror" sounded so good that they decided to keep it.
"There's a time when a man needs to fight and a time when he needs to accept that his destiny's lost, the ship has sailed and that only a fool will continue. The truth is I've always been a fool"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A slight call afar is tempting me, like a whisper sweet or an awful scream; I cannot ignore what I've always been, I'm leaving again - one last time? in my little kingdom I can be what I really wanted to be... The wanderer
"Shadow, shadow" would've sounded silly :shock: That was close.
I can't think of anything clever to put here.
Also I think Mirror should have been the chorus melody of some TFTTW song but they didn't find it strong enough? Or am I confusing songs?
I have been thinking lately that Mirror Mirror sounded awfully cheery for that period of BG (as in, too cheery for SFB/IFTOS/NIME) and that TFTTW was especially full of some cheery choruses..
Yes, at first the chorus was supposed to be for "I'm Alive" :wink:
Is that true?..
I don't recall Hansi saying something like that..
I've been suspecting the possibility of some nonsense in Hansi's lyrics long ago,
but I think 'mirror' really suits better than 'shadow' in this case meaning-wise...
Yet silence also bears madness.
Silence surrounds me - a deathly silence"...
