Sòlstafir - "Drums, guitars, bass, some vocals"

at least, that's what Svavar Austmann, the bassplayer says about his own band.

I think, that "Sólstafir's music is like the sounds from the bedroom as Darkthrone rapes The Doors while fingerbanging Bathory" describes this band a little better ;)
having to use categories, i'd put them into post-metal. antichristian icelandic heathen bastard post metal.

songs for starters:

She Destroys Again

Pale Rider

Ritual of Fire

or via myspace

I really love their visual appearance, not only the artwork of CDs and merch, but also the videos they made. very artistic and fitting to the music. simply awesome. their music is somehow similar full of energy and emotion like anathemas, but more heavy and aggressive. some song are so full of feelings that it gets colder a few degrees when they play it live, even when you are at a summer festivals tent on which the sun already burns for hours!

they are currently on tour with swallow the sun and mar de grises (also a great band). GO THERE, if you can ;)
YEE-HAW MOTHERFUCKER!

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which
I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
it’s a very very...

...Mad world
