Wacken 2010

#1 Post by The Rider Of Rohan » 04 Aug 2009 12:04

First bands confirmed: Immortal and Corvus Corax.

And the first 10.000 tickets are sold out already.

Which is really ridiculous, the sold-out tickets, but well, probably to be expected.

First 2 bands look promising though :)

I don't think it's that rediculous. They made a lot of improvements this year, which are promising for the future. If you knhow that Wacken will definetely sell out, and if you know that you definetely want to go, I see the reason behind buying tickets early. After all: buy it now and you'll pay 110 euro for a ticket and a shirt. Buy it in the next three months, and you'll pay 110 for just the ticket.

Makes sense.

Wait a week or so before Wacken starts and you´ll get an even cheaper ticket at ebay.

Right, you see there´s no real sense in buying your ticket that early.

Shouldn't all these threads be on Metal section?

wacken has always been a sortof semi forum meeting place, so therefor it is posted in here where more people read about it, same goes for a few other festivals like summerbreeze.

Maybe it should be in the Slaughterhouse, but definitely not in the metal section.

- heaven's gate (reunion! - their first few records are quite unbeatable)
- eläkeläiset (humppa!)
- wuthering heights (they never tour and their last record is one of the best albums of the last dacade)

I think they should book both U.D.O. and Accept (with their new singer), put them on different stages at the same time, and see who'll attract the biggest audience. 8)

Wacken has always been the major meeting place for the forumers, it's only logical that people post about it here - the threads are always about the forumers and who comes and who doesn't, the bands are a secondary thing

The metal section is not the section to talk about forum meetings. And in this context, Wacken is definitely a forum meeting.

Well, last year half the tickets were sold before even a single band was confirmed for the festival...

In comparison, this is much less ridiculous.

Hmm,. I paid 130 euro for the normal tickets... so 110 for X-mass would be quite good imo...

and yes, that means I'll be there :)

"Young knight learn, to love God and revere women, so that your honour grows.
Practice knighthood and learn the Art that dignifies you, and brings you honour in wars.
Wrestle well and wield lance, spear, sword and dagger manfully; whose use in others’ hands is wasted."
