Facebook?
Re: Facebook?
I've had Facebook account for two years I guess, but I don't really use it anymore, maybe 2-3 times per week.

Re: Facebook?
yeh got facebook too... I look at it every couple of weeks
I'm actually more pathetic: I use the Dutch version (hyves) more often... one good thing about it is that it's easier to use

I cancel and later reactivate my Facebook account almost every day. It doesn't bring balance to the force, but it does make the imbalance less perceptible.

You are about as close to balance as two galaxies crashing into each other.

Re: Facebook?
Facebook must die.
What I hate it about the most is it's slowly but surely becoming a must have. Kinda like a cell phone. No, I'm not against cell phones but I'm still very much against the idea that a person must be reachable 24/7 but not everyone likes it if I keep my cell phone switched off for an extended period of time. Anyway I digress... For example you only get invitations to certain events if you have an account. If you don't, you simply are missing out - you won't be getting a separate e-mail invitation.
I also feel Facebook sometimes cripples social life. Before FB: Person A and person B who are friends but not the closest kind of ones meet up at a coffee shop and talk for an hour about how they've been doing. Enter FB: Person A posts a status update and person B simply clicks the 'like' button after having read it.
btw, I'm going to take a crap now and I'm sure all the world cares a lot.

I agree with ^ He is spot on

Re: Facebook?
Well I'm actually thinking about starting a facebook account. And I'll tell you why.
Lots of my friends here are students, lots of them from abroad. They're here for a few years at best, and with Facebook I might have a good way not to forget them. And when one of those guys is coming to Holland again (or when I go to their country) it's easier to meet somewhere. And I don't mean the countless Chinese people I can visit in China whenever I want, that's a different matter

Re: Facebook?
Well, i find it a good reason, I myself did it so i could more easily stay in contact with my friends abroad who aren't on msn anymore. And I don't really like e-mailing people, as writing one feels too obligated to tell a whole story and to react on stories. On facebook you can simply read the statusses and react whenever you please.
Hell it even got me in more frequent contact with my uncle who lives abroad.

Re: Facebook?
After decrying FaceBook on here months ago saying I deleted my account, I reactivated because MySpace adopted about the same layout. I have both now... my MySpace I'm keeping just for bands/music because FaceBook's music aspect sucks still.

I also have an FB account and it is quite a good thing, because some of our teachers announce tests through status
and also as mentioned before it is benefitable when organising some kind of meeting e.g. reunion from elementary school.

Just-me, you're a brave soul! I'd be too scared to have my profs as friends on Facebook (save one, but the guy is funny as hell anyways)!
Re: Facebook?
Yeah, this is what I like about it, keeping in touch with people you still like to see what they're up to, but they're not so close that you write them a mail or chat with them on MSN every nightGandalf de Grijze wrote:Well, i find it a good reason, I myself did it so i could more easily stay in contact with my friends abroad who aren't on msn anymore.
