Well spoken, Mike.

The next day we were sitting at the breakfast-table in our party-tent (sipping orangensaft, all hung over) when a woman left my tent and took the walk of shame across the campsite. Then Arjen told me how the night before I walked around the campsite, asked him if he had any condoms left, then after he went back to his tent I unpolitely refused them. From what I heard I told him I changed me mind because I realised already got a BJ and couldn't be bothered to put any more effort into it. Apparently after that I went to take a leak, strolled back to sleep and started snoring.

I admit that it wasn't the most charming side of me that night, but at least it was a good story.
It's lessons like that which make little girls turn into big girls. And hairy lesbo manhaters.
Hehe, lol.

THE RUNNING ORDER OF WOA IS ONLINE. PARTS OF IT LOOK AMAZING. THE NIGHT TO REMEMBER IS AWESOME WITH MAIDEN, COOPER AND CRUE.

NO TIMETABLE THOUGH, SO THERE'S NO WAY OF FINDING OUT HOW MANY GREAT BANDS WILL BE OPPOSING EACH OTHER. ALTHOUGH I HAVE TO SAY THAT WOA DID A GREAT JOB AT PREVENTING HEARTBREAKING DECISIONS IN THE RECENT YEARS.

Good news, today I received an e-mail from Wacken that theyŕe gonne send out my ticket in the near future. I was a bit worried, because I ordered and paid my ticket the exact day before they pulled up the sold-out sign.

Saved by the bell. :)

he running order is online!

http://sommernachtstrauma.com/woa2010/

My WOA:

Wednesday 04. Aug 2010

18:00 - 18:30 Wet T-Shirt Contest
22:00 - 23:00 Mambo Kurt Beer Garden

Thursday 05. Aug 2010
13:30 - 14:15 Secret Show Red Bull Bus
16:00 - 16:45 Skyline (+ Special Guests Doro, U.D.O. And More) Black Stage
17:30 - 19:00 Alice Cooper True Metal Stage
19:30 - 21:00 Mötley Crüe Black Stage
21:30 - 23:30 Iron Maiden True Metal Stage

Friday 06. Aug 2010
15:30 - 16:30 Die Apokalyptischen Reiter Black Stage
18:00 - 19:00 Voivod Party Stage
19:15 - 20:15 Kamelot True Metal Stage
20:30 - 21:30 Tarja Turunen Party Stage
21:45 - 23:00 Grave Digger True Metal Stage

Saturday 07. Aug. 2010
17:00 - 18:00 Delain Party Stage
18:15 - 19:15 W.A.S.P. True Metal Stage
20:45 - 21:45 Edguy True Metal Stage
23:15 - 00:15 Soulfly True Metal Stage
00:30 - 01:30 Fear Factory Black Stage; or:
00:30 - 01:30 Tiamat Party Stage
01:45 - 03:00 U.D.O. True Metal Stage

All in all a good running order. My only 'complaint' is that all the good bands play at night, so there won't be a lot of standing in the sun during a great power metalband (Alice Cooper comes close though).

And trying to stand up during U.D.O. is going to kill my feet. :)

Megalol.

Due to many different reasons, lots of metalheads have to bring their infants to the W:O:A and we organized something specially for you:

From Wednesday, August 4th to Saturday, August 7th the Wacken kindergarten is open for all W:O:A kids – for FREE! – just like the Wacken Forest-Kindergarten (new!).

Link to the kindergarten website: http://www.kirchengemeinde-wacken.de/Ki ... garten.htm

Registration and more information are available at woakids@wacken.com with the maintenance times desired and a contact address.

We hope to served you well.

Feel free to contact us for more ideas and suggestions.

Many of you might have a Vuvuzela , suitable for the World Championship in South Africa. Vuvuzelas officially have a sound level of 135 Decibel, which is 10 dB louder than a starting jet plane so we have decided to bann them completely from the festival.

To avoid that the live performances of the artists will be disturbed by the nerve strucking trumpet noises, our security will check the whole audience at the entrance to the festival area. If someone doesn´t abide to this rule, the security is advised to take theses instruments away.

Please also take care at the camping area and do not disturb your neighbours. They will thank you for this...

Thanks for your understanding

Am I right in saying that the attendance of WOA isd rather low this year? So far it has been the Dutch and Simon (who, by the way, posted almost exactly the same running order I did 8) ).

Oh well. Some WOA-vids to put me in the mood:

Actually at the Wacken forum people complained about it. Appearantly there were some people who blamed Wacken that they were drifting away from metal (Firegfighters, anyone) and other pelople didn't want a marching band to disturb the peace and quiet of the campsite (eh?).

Dumb Germans...

True indeed. Back in the early 2000s there always was this group of bagpipers at WOA. Nobody complained about that. It was too much fun to bump into them, drink a beer, and watch them play.

You should. I have been going to Wacken for ten years, and every time, it's great.

The festival was slightly less good in the years 2005-2008, but since last year it's great again.

@ Gnome: better hide your bottle of Jack between your clean socks. :)
Glas bottles - Due to security and environment reasons it is forbidden to take along glas bottles from the town Wacken on the camping & parking area. Glass bottles will not be available any more at the shops in and around Wacken. The mass of shards at the camping area and the waste disposal have become unbearable. We ask for you understanding.

Latest news from the WOA-forum: apparantly the ban on glass bottles is only there for glass bought in the town of Wacken, and doesn't apply to glass you bring along with you from home. How those two are different, is beyond me.

It's funny that the German stupidity that we experience every year now starts 2 weeks early.

it surely lacks some consistency
but i assume it's for practical reasons:
- you avoid "revolting" people like the one from the forum
- you can't control it anyway - so better not try to make up rules that can't be enforced (and lose credibility)

On the Wacken-forum someone wrote that on another festival (With Full Force or something similatr) they were searching every car and throwing away every glass bottle, including Nutella. If they were to do the same thing at WOA, you could bet that there will be traffic-jams from the entrance to Itzehoe.

I still don't get the logic behind allowing bier brought from home vs bier bought in the town, as the equation could be as much as 10-1. There's a limit to the number of crates you can carry for 2 km's. And according to the abc, you can still buy Jäger and Jack in the supermarket in the festival-area.

Oh well. Hey Simon, will you be camping with us again this year?

that's the plan...same place as last year?
i really like the "dead-end-character" of it - there was almost no traffic there
i assume they try to allocate you again to one specific spot...and we'll have to drive through 8)

Yeah, last year was great. This year we'll do the same thing: take the freedom to go wherever we want to. 8)
