a dutch site which is very known for its uncompromising and often controversial way of bringing their news and scoops launched a campaign to start a new TV station in januar. the 1st of april they needed 50.000 paying members to continue. They managed to get that amount on march 27th. Anyway, yesterday they published an article which said nothing more and nothing less that it was all a joke, but NEVER specified WHAT exactly was a joke. Reverse psychology and expecation patterns did the rest. Everybody believed this new station was a joke, but the joke was only the article and the people made the joke themselves :P

We have paper sheets, as official letters from the chancellor of the university in the men's rooms in our building, telling us that in order to save money, we should only us the pissoirs in groups (since there are several of them in a line and when you use one, all of them start flushing). I found that amazingly funny mostly because I had complained about the way those pissoirs waste water in the student council, so it's nice that someone else noticed that and made a joke about it :)

They say that there's a broken light for every heart on Broadway.
They say that life's a game, then they take the board away.
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
Then leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret...

Still the goddamn Batman.

And goddamnit, it was STILL predictable as hell. Or well, at least I predicted that exactly this thing would happen.
You charge each other for the time and breath it takes to say 'good morning',
But the truth is slowly dawning -- things are getting out of hand,
We all pursue our shattered dreams along the roads to our own ruin --
Watch our empires sink and wash away like castles made of sand.
And so cast off the lies that are your lives and find the truth within.

indeed, but most people somehow didn't read or remember that this particular site had set their goal a day earlier to avoid the link to an april fool's joke ;)

I don't think I fell for any April Fools Joke prank this year. Not even the one about Dong.

And most of them were just so lame, like the one about Wilders becoming mayor of Den Helder (which was actually published on March 31). :?

"Young knight learn, to love God and revere women, so that your honour grows.
Practice knighthood and learn the Art that dignifies you, and brings you honour in wars.
Wrestle well and wield lance, spear, sword and dagger manfully; whose use in others’ hands is wasted."
